Community Housing Shelter Initiative
Overview
The Community Housing Shelter Initiative is a social development program of Pori Development Association aimed at providing safe, affordable, and dignified housing for vulnerable and low-income populations in Papua New Guinea. The initiative responds to the growing challenge of high rental costs, housing insecurity, and unsafe living conditions, particularly affecting disadvantaged groups who are unable to access stable accommodation.
This program is designed as a community-based, inclusive housing model that prioritizes protection, affordability, safety, and long-term stability, while supporting education, livelihoods, and social wellbeing.
